Russian tycoon Oleg Deripaska, who is known for his close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, has said on 7 March Twitter that the war in Ukraine should stop as soon as possible.
We need peace as soon as possible, as we have already passed the point of return. The whole world will be different, and Russia will be different”, Deripaska said.
On March 7th, the other Russian tycoon, Vladimir Lisin, has said through a statement to workers at the steel factory that lives lost in Ukraine constitute tragedy and hard to reason.
Lisin has called for diplomatic efforts to resolve conflict, and has said he hopes war will stop soon
The wealthy Russian businessman, Oleg Tinkov, has announced on March 6th that he is no longer a billionaire, having lost large amounts of money following West sanctions.
He also asked the media not to call it oligarch.
Last week, Tinkov and three other Russian tycoons -- Mikhail Friedman, Pyotr Aven and Alexei Mordov alike targeted by West sanctions -- have called for halting hostilities. / REL
