Russian space chief says Russia will no longer sell US missile engines. Russian space agency Roscosmos will no longer send rocket engines produced by Russia to the United States, Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin said, ending a long relationship between American and Russian missile producers.
“Today we have made a decision to stop the shipment of missile engines produced by NPO Energomas in the United States,” said Rogozin, according to the Russian news page TASS. Let me remind you that these shipments have been quite intense somewhere since the mid-1990s=x3>. He added.
TASS reported that ban will be applied to engines US-based RD-180 Atlas V missiles Launch Alliance (ULA).
But ULA CEO Tory Bruno said via Twitter that the ULA has already received the surrender of the RD-180 it needs in the short term and he does not predict the consequences of the Russian invasion in Ukraine to have any impact on ULA's operations.
U n LA, a private space transport company, is in the process of abandoning its Atlas missile line in favour of a new missile line called Vulcan, which will be used by the US-based company Jeff Bezos, Blue Origin. It's not clear when that missile will be ready to fly. /abcnews.al/
