PSD action before the Ministry of Agriculture: Farmers Today Are in Crisis

The Social Democratic Party, (PSD), has carried out a symbolic action in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rual Development -- MBPHR -- where it has criticised its policies in the face of field needs, writes the Periscope newspaper. This party official, Frasher Krasniqi, has said power exists even to manage crisis time as Kurti government fails at this point

We know that in times of crisis local governments are to distribute this kind of crisis or to place the burden of this crisis more equally to alleviate that crisis. In the two previous crises, Coddy-19 and energy we've seen a government's behavior that subsidizes the very ones that have a lot and that the burden of those two crises has fallen on those with the least. Fifty to 60 percent of our needs are covered by local production. The 97.8 per cent increase in land sowing costs has to lower local production by exposing us to imports even more and international crises”, Krasniqi said. / EO

Krasniqi has said the Kosovo government is not standing close to those dealing with agriculture, however, there is still time to act.

Today, the Kosovo government has the last moment to intervene with subventional policies to prevent the coming crisis in autumn. Farmers today are in crisis. The Kosovo government is not getting close, so we have brought the powder here today to bring a recent warning to the Government of Kosovo that if it does not intervene with subsidies in agriculture and emergency, then all the plowshares in Kosovo will remain untapped and we will enter the fall with a bigger crisis in terms of the price of wheat”, Krasniqi said. / PERISCOP
