NATO shows figures for the first time: 7-15 thousand Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine

A high official NATO says that according to Alliance estimates, Russia may have suffered 30 to 40 thousand losses among the ranks of its forces in Ukraine during the first month of war, among which 7 to 15 thousand were killed. This is the first time NATO has given recognition [...]
This is the first time NATO has given praise for the loss of Russian forces in Ukraine since the war began on 24 February.
High Military NATO, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the assessment of murdered Russian soldiers is based on the processing of information provided by the Ukrainian government, information coming out of Russia, as well as other open sources.
The U.S. government has so far refused to give public estimates of losses between the Russian and Ukrainian armies, saying information is not very reliable.
Official NATO said the 30-40 thousand-strong losses between the ranks of Russian forces are calculated according to the standard military assessment, which in cases of wars, for each soldier who loses his life there are three others injured. Among the losses are the slain, the wounded, or the captured.
Meanwhile in a speech to France's parliament, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on French companies to leave Russia and do not indirectly help the fight against Ukraine.
Zelensky used the speech to provide greater support from Europe for his country. He appealed to France for help with weapons, equipment, and aircraft.
In a speech to the Japanese parliament today, Zelensky urged Japan to impose trade embargo on Russia, and Japanese firms urged them to leave Russia.
Over the past 28 days, he said, thousands of people, including 121 children, have been killed in Ukraine, and over 9 million people have been forced to flee their homes.
“We cannot even bury the dead”, he said.
As the war enters in the second month, Russia has been locked up in a hard, costly, militarily insecure war, with an unexplored number of soldiers killed and no signs it will end soon.
Russia's economy is being marred by severe sanctions imposed by the West. The main Russian strategic targets are still incomplete. Ukraine's capital, Kiev has been repeatedly bombed, but it has not dropped, nor is it surrounded.
Russian forces are bombarding objects from a distance, repeating the tactics they used earlier in Chechnya and Syria. /voa
