Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said at the UN Conference on Disarmament in Switzerland that it is time for American nuclear weapons to return to Europe.
Lavrov was expected to appear personally in Geneva, but travel bans prevented this é, so in a pre-registered message he said Russia was ready to talk about strategic stability with the US, but he warned that the West should not build military objects in former Soviet Union countries.
He also seemed to offer a new excuse for the Russian invasion in Ukraine to prevent Ukraine from taking up nuclear weapons, writes the BBC, broadcasts Klankosova.tv.
Led by Ukraine, many ambassadors, including those of the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Canada, the US and the EU, left while Lavrov started talking.
Russia's Foreign Minister will also speak again with video connections and with advance security at the UN Human Rights Council soon.
