Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has conducted an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde, where he talked about Kosovo's position and security aspect in the Balkans following the outbreak of war in Ukraine. Kurti has said Russian President Vladimir Putin has entered a dead end.
According to the Kosovo prime minister, Putin's temptation to expand the conflict is disturbing for the Western Balkans, as it may be one of three suitable regions, where it will try to launch new conflicts.
Kurti has said that for the turmoil in the Balkans, Belgrade can submerge Belgrade.
The thirdron I fear is part of the Western Balkans. And this region worries me the most, not just about the fact that it's about my country. Because in the case of Moldova and Georgia, the Kremlin must divide part of its military power for new battlefields. As far as Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina are concerned, it can directly submert Belgrade and Bosnian Serb Republic. So Russia could expand the war without having to use its” military reserves, he said.
According to Kurt, Moldova and Georgia are also at risk.
President Putin has entered a dead end unless he follows the worst approach. It's a form of sabotage itself, he can't go back. Of course, we are concerned here because his temptation to spread war further seems clear. There are three regions at stake. Moldova, because trying to enclaves Ukraine and to deprive it of the Black Sea exit, Russians will go from Crime to Transnistria via Odessa (Odessa). The second is Georgia: South Ossetia and Abkhazia were annexed in 2008, the year Kosovo declared its independence”, he said of Le Monde.
