Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has been declared after meeting with Austria's Chancellor, Carl Nehammer. Kurti said the Austrian Chancellor has declared that Kosovo is oriented to meet all criteria that offer the state with the European Union.
Furthermore, the prime minister declared that Kosovo is willing, as in the case of Afghans, to offer refuge to the citizens of Ukraine.
Our government is oriented towards reforms to fulfill all the criteria that offer us the most in the European Union. I assured the Chancellor that Kosovo continues to remain a stable and reliable partner. As for Afghan refugees, we have offered our assistance in the case of Ukraine. We have joined sanctions against Russia and expressed readiness to provide and enable working conditions for 20 Ukrainian journalists and housing readiness of up to 5 thousand refugees”, he said.
Kurt also pointed out his requests to Austria's Chancellor. He said he has asked Chancellor Nehammer for support for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
Kurti also said he has asked him to postpone the visa liberalisation decision for Kosovo on the European Council.
“With Austrian Chancellor we talked about the new political situation and the need for increased care in this part of Europe. I stressed the importance of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, as well as the acceleration of the integration agenda towards EU membership. From the Chancellor, I asked Austria to push ahead with the visa liberalisation decision on the European Council of the EU, because it is a delayed decision that is damaging not only citizens, but Kosovo's business and economy”, he said.
