The war in Ukraine has also hit Kosovo's economy by bringing expensive of various flour products, 1.60 euros, food oil, sugar and electricity.
Zejnullah points out that a half-pound bread is expected to cost up to 50 cents.
The head of this association, Zejnullahu, emphasises for KosovaPress that today, 100kg of flour are being sold 52 euros in his mill at Klokot. But he does not guarantee that this will be the prize in the coming days.
“100 kg of flour today we are still selling at 52 euros... Today, though, grain imports had been costing 600 euros a ton of flour. And the flour we're selling right now is for the price of our reserves, otherwise the price of wheat import has gone up a lot. Today, it is currently 400 euros of wheat prices for an imported ton, which means that a 600-euro price for one tonne of flour, minimum... We're trying to maintain a stability by personal means, but otherwise the import has been very expensive, meaning there may be a large rise in Kosovo”, he points out.
The head of the miller's association is also warning an expensive meal of up to 50 cents nationwide. However, he says that some furnaces in some cities have only begun to apply this price from last autumn.
However, according to him, many citizens are storing flour in large quantities, which, according to Fyzullah, is a poor phenomenon.
The “People are storing too much through the houses which is a bad phenomenon at the moment... The price of wheat, today, of Serbia is about 360 euros per ton, while France's is up to 420 euros per tonne of wheat. Today, flour in Europe is 80 euros per 100 kilogram or 800 euros per ton of flour... Is the price of bread expected to rise? Yes, the bread must now reach the price of 50 cents - more to be unreasonable. The ovens that have worked under this price today must reach the price of bread 50 cents. While some furnaces raised the prices very early at 50 cents,”, he says.
Because of the war in Ukraine, except for the expensive fuel, which has no stop, even basic food products continue to be expensive on the Kosovo market every day.
Today in some stores in Pristina, the price for a kilogram of flour has reached 0. 79 cents, for 5 kilograms 3.99 euros, a litre of 1.85 euros of food oil, a kilogram of sugar has reached 89 cents, 5 kg 4.09 euros, vegetables (speca) from 2.15 to 2.39 euros, oil a litre of 1.60 euros, electricity for the low 5.9 euro fee and for the 12.52 euro fee fee.
