People in the Ukrainian town of Kherson have been subjected to violence by Russian troops, a local resident told CNN on Friday.
The person in question warned that the situation within the city is getting worse, writes CNN.
“We cannot get out of”, the resident said.
“Burrat are being seized and taken”.
The resident shared a video of a civilian car convoy with CNN, accompanied by several Russian military vehicles, arriving in Kherson late Wednesday.
The resident said, although CNN could not verify whether the vehicles came from the Crimea.
In a statement issued yesterday by Henadini Laha, head of the State Regional Administration Kherson, it was said Russian forces had fully seized “the building of the regional state administration, but stressed that local officials had not abandoned their responsibilities.
Speaking of CNN on Friday, the local resident said Ukrainian TV had been removed and Russian television channels were broadcast, showing that the situation in the city is calm and children go to school.
The resident also noted that mobile networks were being interrupted.
Kherson Mayor Ihor Kolykhaiev said on Wednesday that the Ukrainian army was no longer in town and that its residents must now apply the instructions of the “armed people who came to the town administration” ♫ showing that Kherson had come under Russian control
