Organization “You can do” has appealed to institutions for awareness that disabled women have access to employment and treatment like everyone else. This organisation says that the same are socially discriminated against and that not one per cent of them are employed.
Saranda Krasniqi from organisation “You can do”, has called on institutions not to neglect these people and allow the same ones employment.
The girls and women with special needs are part of our society so they should be treated as such, have equal opportunities in education, jobs and any other vital realm. None of us are perfect, and none of us choose how we are born, prejudices and conjectures are unacceptable under whatever circumstances they are... I call on all public and private institutions to accept them as they are because they really are worth”, she said.
Yllka Berisha, with limited ability was part of this call. Although educated, she says there was no employment option.
We're protesting in peaceful form so we can empower the gender equality law, but also the law on women with special needs... We refer to all institutions to be our wing, even if we're not in places, key positions... I'm not employed, I haven't had the opportunity as a woman with special needs to give me my own exclusives or market my values that I have, but unfortunately I haven't had a chance. Employment is not the right thing for us, there is, at the moment we are unemployed. We may be waiting in the future to be treated equally and to break those taboos, the” barrier, Berisha says.
Even Leonora Sahini-Bajraktari has been attached to the call, showing that she has long been dealing with more limited persons and that the same are twice as discriminated against.
It's a long time since I deal with people with limited skills even day in the Republic of Kosovo that women are really discriminated against, but especially women and girls with limited abilities are doubly discriminated against in our society... Not one percent of women with limited abilities are employed”, she said.
