Gjokqi war crimes sentence confirmed in Kosovo

The Supreme Court has rejected the request for protection of legitimacy by Zoran Djokic's defence team and has confirmed its sentence of 12 years for war crimes in Kosovo. The Supreme Court's resolution to criminal cases against convicted Mr.J., due to the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population, at the session held on February 15th 2022, refused to be filed with the request for protection of legitimacy, of the convicted defenders, brought against the Constitutional Court's conviction in Pristina, and the Court of Appeals Act. The Supreme Court has rejected the request for protection of Mr. J., proving that the courts of the lowest instance, have directly implemented criminal law and that in the actions of convicts all adhere to the objective elements and subjectives of the criminal work, for which it was found guilty”, the Supreme announced Wednesday.
Gjokqi has been convicted of war crimes committed during March 1999 in Peja's Crystal district. He was a member of Serbian criminal, military, and paramilitary groups who had violently entered the homes of Albanians and had been persecuted, robbed, and forced to leave their homes, killed. Tgyq had been sentenced to 12 years in prison in February 2021.
