EU to boost financial support for military supplies to Ukraine

The European Union will boost financial assistance and send weapons to Ukraine, according to German Finance Minister Annalena Baerbox in a statement before the Special Council of Foreign Affairs in Brussels. “
“We will increase the financial means for the purchase of military goods to 1 billion euros, to make it clear, we stand with full solidarity on the Ukraine's side, we stand for the protection of the civilian population in Ukraine,”, Bayerbock told reporters.
Germany will also ensure that arms sales by German producers are conducted as soon as possible.
“Ukraine needs more weapons,” she said, without providing more details.
This is about life and death, we're in the middle of a war and therefore absolute care is needed to declare which weapons will be handed over and where”, Baierbox added.
Backock also noted that the alliance must prevent the spread of war to other countries.
“We have a responsibility towards Ukrainians, but we also have a responsibility to 450 million Europeans and those who are NATO members,” she added.
