After great and endless criticism, the government Kurti wakes up from sleep: Proceed procedures for the American Gas pipeline

Kosovo's government today has reviewed the Ministry of Finance's initiative to negotiate the Co-finance Agreement between Kosovo and the US, represented by the Millennium Challenge Corporation for the <x0m-euro Millennium Challenge Compat”, through which procedures for obtaining grants from MCC worth 200m euros for [...]
Finance Minister Iron Murati said that after all the controversy over the project, today it is presenting the initiative for 200m euros' profit for sustainable energy insurance.
Murati: Kosovo benefits 200m euros for stable energy insurance
After the controversy and all that talk is about whether or not, or whether they have lost the funds I present to you the request for approval of the initiative for the compact programme with the Millennium Challenge Corporation or the MCC is about a co-finance project by the Government of Kosovo and the US Government... the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers has supported and worked closely with the Ministry of Economy, which has been a host of discussions to ensure co-operation for a co-finance programme that involves a 200 million euros programme that marks Kosovo's 2.5%... The main priorities of this agreement is ensuring energy sector sustainability by providing backup to”, he said.
Details about the gas pipeline compact programme also prompted Economy Minister Roseta Hajdari, who said it is marking a turning point in building an energy system infrastructure that enables economic development.
While, he stressed that through this programme with the MCC for the next 15 years, it will ensure stable balance for KOSST.
Rizvanolli said that agreement with the MCC on the gas pipeline by the end of September should be passed to the Kosovo Assembly due to the energy crisis.
Rizvanolli: With this agreement, at least 15 years of stability
The compact that we are launching with this agreement today will create capacities that will enable COST to ensure the balance of the system automatically and manual for at least 15 years. The reserve capacity will depend on the final negotiations expected to be held in May 2022, but what I can assure you is that the capacity will be more than 150 megawatts and more than 200 megawatts of spare hours... I will be ready to meet with all parties to make sure that this compact programme is passed before September 30th in the Parliament, at a time when the world is involved in the energy crisis that is becoming heavy from the war in Ukraine and we have to be vigilant and make sure that we spend as soon as possible this programme assisting our energy system independence and the energy transformation of Kosovo”, she said.
Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has informed the government cabinet of the implementation of the Programme for the implementation of a Stabilisation and Association Agreement during 2021, which he said the overall level of implementation of measures so far is 51.43%, or 126 out of 245 of the previous measures.
While, in terms of implementing the action plan for implementing the Agency for European Reform, Bislimi said that by the end of 2021 79 of 321 reforms have been implemented, more than 108 reforms are under way, there are delays in 105 euros and 49 are expected to start implementing them. He said there are 14 reforms implemented on the legislative level of 87.
The Kosovo government today has also appointed members and deputy members of the Commission for Trade Control and Strategic Goods and the appointment of the Council for Consumer Protection.
Reasoning about this has given Minister of Trade, Intervention and Innovation Roseta Hajdari, who said the appointment of members of this Council gives substantial impetus to the area of consumer protection.
Heidi: The current Council structure must change
“We consider that the current structure of the Council should change with the following argument: representation in the council should be almost comprehensive in which all institutions and actions dealing with consumer protection should be represented, not presence for months without reasoning by some members of the Council, not contributing any contribution to the work of the Council, as recommended or programme for protection of consumers or even any institutions or whatever it may mean for years. Disregarding or disobeying professional and ethical rules and norms by some representatives from the Council”, she stressed.
The government also approved today the proposal to request by President Vjosa Osmani granting authorisation to the Ministry of Finance for signing the loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the Framework of Green Cities 2-Effigy Energy project in Pristina public buildings.
The government cabinet has also approved the initiative to link the extradition agreement between the Government of Kosovo and Croatia.
