A man trapped by a quick fire in an apartment building in New Yersey threw his little baby into the arms of police and firefighters, who later caught the man, authorities said.
Fire at the South Ridge complex in South Brunswick was reported at around 8:15 a.m. Monday morning.
The man and his son, who seemed to be young, were on a balcony on the second floor when the authorities told Father to throw the boy away. Three officers and a fireman grabbed the child, and his father soon followed him. Both were treated for minor injuries, the AP reports, broadcast Clankosova.tv.
Four other persons were being treated for the inhalation of smoke, including one hospitalised, the authorities said. About 50 people were evacuated by fire, the causes of which they are being investigated.
