Lieutenant General Yakov Rezantsev, 48-year-old commander of the 49th Army from the combined arms division, became the fifth general to be killed in the wake of an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said sources from Kiev.
The general's death takes the number to 15 of Russian commanders killed for a month since the beginning of the war, as Putin's invading forces are facing major losses to Ukraine's defence forces.
