“Belgrade, with its status as a city and its perspective, is fully responsible for any negotiations on all levels,” said Lavrov in an interview for Serbian media, broadcast Tanjug.
The Russian top diplomat thus answered the question of whether Belgrade would be the perfect place for negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
Ukraine-Russia peace talks will resume tomorrow in Turkey, a member of the Ukrainian delegation said today.
Earlier, the Kremlin said the talks were unlikely to begin today as expected.
David Aarahamiya, a member of the Ukraine delegation, said negotiators were still on the street and likely to arrive “very late” due to “logistical difficulties”.
He said the talks would start at 10:00, broadcast Clankosova.tv.
