In his analysis, Lieven introduces Kosovo as he writes about Russia's annexed crime, writes [...]
In his analysis, Lieven also introduces Kosovo, while writing about Russia's annexed crime, writes Express newspaper.
The request for recognition of the Russian Crimea annexation is required. Here, respect for international law (a little unclear in the case of Crime, which was transferred from Russia to Ukraine by Soviet decree in 1954) should be softened by considerations of reality, prevention of future conflict, and the interests of ordinary people in the region which is essentially what we have asked Russia to do in the case of Kosovo”, he wrote.
Lieven adds that Ukraine cannot recover Crime, as Serbia cannot regain Kosovo without bloody and endless war.
“Ukraina has already lost the crime and cannot regain it, as neither Serbia can recover Kosovo, without a bloody and endless struggle that in this case Ukraine would almost certainly lose”.
According to Lieven, the principle in these disputes should be that the <x0th of territories in question should be decided by local democratic referenda under international supervision”.
This should also apply to the separatist republics of Donbas”, writes British journalist.
