The Russian Defence Ministry announced on Wednesday that it invaded the town of Kherson.
That evening, Igor Kolikaev, the mayor of Kherson, announced on Facebook that Russian soldiers had broken into the city council building.
Armed guests entered the city council today. My team and I are peaceful people, we haven't had weapons or aggression on our part. We don't have Ukrainian armed forces in town, only civilians and people who want to live here!”, Kolikaev wrote on March 3rd.
