A storage depot in the Kiev region was fired Saturday as a result of missile attacks by the Russian military.
According to the BBC, the blasts were recorded at 3:40am Saturday morning.
Images published by the State Emergency Service showed emergency workers running to extinguish a massive flame in what seemed to be a one - story warehouse while high smoke bolts rose into the air.
The fire was located at 7:54 and firefighters are still working to extinguish the flames. So far, no casualties are reported.
In Lviv, the western town considered relatively safe so far, the alarm lasted two hours, never so much since the beginning of the war. The city was awakened by sirens about 5:30.
Blasts were heard early in the cities of Nikolaev (in the south), Dnepro and Kripyvnytsky (centre). This was reported by BBC Ukraine, quoting local authorities.
The approach of Russian forces to Ukraine's capital is also witnessed by satellite images that have shown the use of heavy artillery. Ukrainian authorities accuse Russia of raiding in Mykolaiv, where a hospital and several residential buildings were damaged, although none of the hundreds of hospital patients were killed in the attack.
Under bombings and supplies, the situation in the besieged northern town of Chernihiv is deteriorating every day, reports BBC Nese Ukraine. The town faces a constant hail of grants and air bombings, while gas, heating and water supplies have been cut off.
Electricity is available only in a few areas, and most of the city is without light and communication.
The town, which had a pre-war population of about 300,000, is surrounded by Russian forces and has suffered serious damage. /A2 CNN
