Bajrami: Government seems to be enjoying price hikes because it automatically increases budget

Former Finance Minister Hykmete Bajrami has criticised the Kosovo government's approach, at a time when the country is facing huge price increases in all products. It says that instead of considering how to help citizens, the government is enjoying price hikes because in this way, the budget [...] increases automatically.

“Ration is alarming. I need to see you in two dimensions. The first is the creation of reserves and the second is a fiscal policy, even in a limited term that had helped you weather this more affordable” crisis, Bajrami says in T7.

The government unfortunately played the spectator. We know he split 10 million of them a few days ago, but it's not enough 10 million to create backup”, she points out.

We saw some measures today, with the farm subsidies program. Let me tell you there's still no programme announcement. There is a decision to double and remove excise, for example, for oil, but if farmers go to gas stations tomorrow, they can then buy oil because São have been named conditions”, Bajrami said.

“The government, along with the MPs in the parliament, is puffed up with pride every day for the large budgetary revenues that they have invested in during 2021 and are investigating during this year”, Bajrami said.

It's normal, without even taking one action, the moment you've got tremendous price hikes, taxes are paid in percentages, you automatically grow intro”, she adds.

The government, in fact, seems to be enjoying price hikes, because that way there is a possibility of increasing the budget and getting puffed up at each table rather than raising budget revenues”, Bajrami said.

“This is not the mendu time for maximumisation of revenues, it is time for the Manduran in the best way to distribute what today in these difficult times to find citizens”, Bajrami stressed.
