Some 1.7 million Ukrainian refugees in Poland

Almost 1.7 million people from Ukraine have fled to Poland since the beginning of the Russian occupation on February 24th, the Polish Border Guard reported today on Twitter.
Only Saturday have some 79 800 people crossed the border -- a 5% increase compared to the previous day. The flux was particularly large at the Medyka border crossing in the province of Subcarpathia.
On Sunday, 16 800 other Ukrainian refugees were registered between midnight (23:00 GMT) and 7:00 a.m.”, the Border Guard said.
Currently, there is no official information about how many of the refugees have stayed in Poland and how many of them have travelled to other EU states. / AT SH-DPA/
