Merdiana Leci, is Kosovo, which will serve at the American State Department.
It will be the first to exercise the function of liaison diplomat at this institution.
The U.S. State Department through official Twitter account says it welcomed Officer Leci.
The UN has called this historic agreement, which is stressed that it will further strengthen co-operation with Kosovo.
“Today the US State Department has welcomed Merdiana Lecin, as Kosovo's first diplomatic liaison officer with@State Dept. This historic agreement will further strengthen understanding and co-operation between the United States, Kosovo and partners in common foreign policy priorities”, it says in the end.
We remember that US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeff Hovenier, on January 11th of this year, has announced that Merdiana Leci will be Kosovo's liaison official at the US State Department.
