Current president of PDK, Memli Krasniqi, has said their absence is too great and feels it emotionally.

Krasniqi believes they are being held unjustly in the chambers of the Special Courts and at least should be given the opportunity to defend themselves in freedom.

I've been contacted in a spordical fashion with Mr. Wessel and Mr. Thaci after taking responsibility for the PDK chairman. I used to communicate more often, talk to them from time to time, because you have to consider something, beyond that I've worked with them and I've been the vice president of both of them. I also have friendly and personal reports with them. So their absence is also felt in an emotional and personal way beyond that only political and normally, looking forward to visiting The Hague”, Krasniqi said at ATV.

He indicated there has been a planned visit of the two former PDK leaders early in December, but had been cancelled due to the showing of cases with COVID.

“I should have been visiting them at the beginning of December, but because there were cases of COVID inside, it was canceled and still holds the right of only the defence team and the close family to visit but actually lack of them is also in the emotional and personal sense”, Krasniqi added.
