While saying that the current minimum wage is discriminated against, Hykoli suggests they have established research and discussion commissions on minimum wage.
“Prices have moved a lot, even those essentials for human life so we're waiting for commissions because they're doing a minimum wage research, but like BSPK we think minimum wage should start negotiating for 350 euros and higher... The minimum wage has not been discussed, nor has it been discussed since 2011, we have a minimum wage that is discriminated against, is 170 euros for over 30 years, and we have 130 euros under the age of 30. We think it's a high negotiation, but if the minimum wage had been negotiated by 2011, then we would have a minimum wage perhaps even more than the figure I'm saying now”, Hykoli said.
Hycol shows they are in the process of discussing the minimum wage level.
The co-ordination of Kosovo's Independent Unions is part of the economic-Social council. We even run this council and negotiate the minimum wage. Social partners, Government, Businesses and us as confederations are participating. We have begun discussing the minimum wage, we have established commissions that are called for the discussion of minimum wage, and they are finishing their work”, Hykoli said.
