The Ukraine Defence Ministry says two soldiers have been killed and four others have been injured by the injuries received by grants.
The ministry also said it has recorded 122 violations by Russian forces Saturday, including 108 dealing with weapons banned from Minsk agreements.
The ministry said the artillery fired the settlements, reports Guardian.
By doing so, the enemy is trying to force the Ukrainian Armed Forces units to open fire in response so that Ukrainian defenders further accuse of granting civilians”, the statement said.
According to the ministry, two Ukrainian military members died from the injuries sustained by the grants, while four other soldiers were injured and are currently receiving treatment.
The force added it would not open fire on civilian infrastructure and will continue to adhere to international humanitarian law norms.
Rajonet Donetsk and Luhansk have been at the centre of the hostilities in recent days, although the area has been fraught with conflicts since 2014 with ongoing clashes among Russian-backed rebels seeking autonomy and Ukrainians.
Both territories are headed by the separatist government widely seen as Russian representative states within Ukraine.
