We express the deepest pain in the sudden death of two immigrants and the serious injury of two others in the village of Granitna, located near the contact line in eastern Ukraine.
We express our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims as well as congratulations on the immediate recovery of the wounded.
According to evidence available, the authors of the double murder are three Ukrainian Army soldiers who are involved for a trivial reason with victims and wounded.
Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias has sought to speak by phone with Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba to stress again the need to protect the Greek community in Ukraine.
