Thousands of Indian students have been stranded in Ukraine, appeal for evacuation

Social networks have asked the Indian government to organise their immediate evacuation after the fighting began this morning, writes Sky news, reports Periscopi.

Many of these students flying today found the airport in Kiev closed after its airspace closed.

The students demanded that the Indian mission take them to safety after hearing sounds of explosions and sirens around them, Periscope follows.

Meanwhile, India's Foreign Ministry has suggested that they are being sent to land borders with Ukraine in Hungary, Poland, the Slovak Republic and Romania. / P ERISCOPIA
