Just what is strengthening Russia's isolation: Portugal also shuts off airspace

Portugal has also closed its airspace to Russian airlines.

This came in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Portugal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the closure of airspace through a publication on Twitter.

This publication said that this decision has been made in co-operation with European partners and in response to Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The country will also equip Ukraine with military equipment such as: Yeleks, helmets, night vision glasses, grenades, various ammunition, portable radios and G3 automatic rifles.

Portugal has joined a host of states that have announced the closure of air spaces towards Russia, including Germany, Italy, France and Germany.
