The Kosovo Police Inspectorate about a month ago had accepted information through operational routes that a suspect, a police officer with the rank of sergeant at the police station in Pec, may be involved in illegal activities.
Based on this information, IPK investigators in co-ordination with the competent prosecutor began to take investigative/opperative action against the police official.
“Based on evidence and evidence collected by IPK investigators have arrested the police official involved in the evening on suspicion that the same has committed criminal acts and that of Article 227, 329 and 202 of the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code.
In the course of investigative actions, the operation has continued with raids on Pec based on the Constitutional Court's Order in Pec, where various evidence was found and seized” reported on the IPK's announcement.
Suspects arrested in this case with the prosecutor's decision have been assigned the detention measure for 48 hours.
Further investigative actions in this case will continue by IPK investigators in continued consultation with the prosecutor responsible.
