As Free Europe Radio teaches, at an inside O meeting The SEU in Vienna for the war in Ukraine, held on 24 February, has insisted on its interpretations of the invasion of Ukraine, after which representatives of Western countries have left the meeting.

Representatives from Serbia have been among several representatives of some countries that have not left the meeting.

Countries that have stayed with Russia, except for Serbia, are: Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Representatives of the Holy See and those of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly remain at the meeting.

Moscow's attack on Ukraine has started in the early hours of February 24th.

Missiles have been launched at airports and military infrastructure in about 25 cities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered <x0 special operation” to demilitarise Ukraine.

The Kremlin's action has stirred anger and has been condemned worldwide.

The United States and its allies have responded with severe sanctions against Moscow.

Official Belgrade has yet to disclose its position on Russian attacks in Ukraine. Media in Serbia have reported that Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, will announce his stance on the evening of February 25th.

Serbia and Russia maintain higher-level relations.

Official Belgrade refuses to harmonise its policy with Europe, even though Serbia is a candidate for membership in the European Union.

Russia is supporting Serbia by blocking Kosovo's membership in international organisations.

Kosovo declared independence in 2008, but Serbian officials refuse to recognise it as a state.

Serbia is also fully dependent on Russian gas, which it receives through Turkish Stream.
