Through a media communique, The PSD says this draft increases inequality and discriminates against workers in need.
The “Draft published on the Law of Salaries reflects the government's limited policies. Two things characterize it: increasing the gap between executive political positions and civil-professional staff; and conservative and austerity access to the growth rate at a time of inflation and social crisis”, the communiqué says.
In addition, the increases that will be made to the prime minister, deputy ministers, and senior political advisers are mentioned.
“Civil-professional staff within the administration, which constitutes 80% of administration employees, will receive a 10% increase; police have an offensive and disrespectful increase of 7%. The education workers 10%; while the leaders of divisions who with the new law will become people with mandates, so political, will be raised wages by 50%; senior political advisers will benefit 80%, or an increase of 576 euros; the law has increased wages for medical professionals, but has unjustly left the nurses behind; technical staff has been left entirely without an increase; meanwhile, the prime minister's salary has increased for 52% or 780 euros; whereas the deputy ministers under this draft will receive growth of 37% or 425 euros more, said further.
According to them, this draft neglects people who most need the state and should not be approved.
This draft increases inequality and discriminates against workers in need. Those most affected by rising prices are not helped or assisted at all. This draft does not address the need to increase aggregate demand. Governments everywhere have raised minimum wage and subsidy levels. This draft neglects people who most need the state. This draft does not make a adoption of”, the PSD communiqué says.
