Today there are reports that American intelligence has warned Ukraine that a comprehensive attack is inevitable.
Two separate convoys with military equipment that had no visible marks were seen moving towards the town of Donetsk, located in eastern Ukraine, Reuters reported.
One column included nine tanks, as well as a infantry fighter vehicle. According to one journalist on the ground, the other column included trucks and fuel tanks.
Russia transferred nearly 100 percent of troops to positions ready for invasion, a senior US defence official said. The defence official was unable to confirm whether additional troops had moved to the Donba area.
Guardian confirmed that the warning of an imminent attack has gone to Ukraine and allies, and that Great Britain has shared the US assessment.
The conclusion is that there are large Russian formations in motion, so the assessment is that an attack can be launched at any time.
Newsweek was the first to report this, saying the US warned that the offensive would come within 48 hours.
CNN intelligence correspondent Katie Bo Lillis has said her reporting confirmed Newsweek reports.
Katie Bo Lillis said the town of Kharkiv would be particularly at risk.
