The SBASK chairman, Nundman Jasharaj, has stated that they have demanded that the Government support them with 100 euros, as he said after the price hike of all items has been reduced the basket of education workers.
The Steering Council at the extraordinary meeting has found it reasonable because the Law of Salaries is seen to have a tendency not to be done over time, it is not known when I will go to the polls. We have insisted that after continuing price hikes in all elementary articles we have asked the Kurti Government to support employees in the education sector with 100 euros in pay. We consider it appropriate for Kurti Government to intervene to help educational and other workers with an additional 100 euros and that's worth it until the implementation of the Law of Salats begins after agreement with trade unions. Current salaries have now waned due to continued price hikes, and we consider that the Kurti government should intervene”, Jasharaj said.
Jasharaj added that they will not face government co-operation, then on April 2nd they will be forced to strike the entire education system in Kosovo.
“We have formed a working commission by economic experts and our math professors, who are working for the cofficiency. We are working to provide our version with arguments to the Law of Salaries and we expect government support with the addition of 100 euros. But if all that happens is what happens to us as SBASK and the commission as SBASK's highest body, we'll report the situation. But I am afraid that if things continue to flow this way, that the Government will not co-operate, with April 2nd convention delegates who are representatives of education but also culture will bring a decision on union action, what will those actions be, I can't speak now but I'm afraid April will bring back the education system on strike, which means this strike will be worth it from the centres to the University”, he stressed.
He added that the Law of Salaries for them will only be valid when they sit down and are on the table equally, not themselves in the quality of observers.
