Russian Ambassador to EU Warns Attacks, War Beginnings

Moscow seems ready to start the war, waiting for the smallest reason in Ukraine, according to Russian Ambassador to the EU Vladimir Tsizov. Speaking to Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Vladimir Tsizov said Russia would “respond” if Russian civilians were threatened anywhere in the world, including the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine. [...]

We will not invade Ukraine unless we are challenged to do so,” Tsizov said.

If Ukrainians launch an attack on Russia, you should not be surprised if we retaliate. Or if they start killing Russian citizens in Donbass or anywhere else”

Pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine, backed by Moscow, say the Ukrainian government is preparing an attack on them, while Kiev accuses Russia, which has mobilised more than 100,000 troops near the Ukrainian border for plotting to invade the country.
