A Russian naval ship expelled an American submarine into Russian waters in the Pacific after the submarine ignored a Russian order to surface, the Interfax news agency quoted the defence ministry as saying.
The Russian ministry summoned the US defence attaché after complaining that the submarine had entered its waters, the RIA news agency reported, broadcasts Clankosova.tv.
The submarine was spotted near the Curil Islands early Saturday, while Russia was conducting naval exercises with its Pacific fleet and was ordered to immediately surface, the Russian ministry was quoted as saying.
