On its website, the Ukrainian state air traffic authority said the country's airspace has been shut down for civilian flights starting in the clock 5 on Thursday and that air traffic services have been suspended, Reuters writes.

The application and possible use of a major land and air combat systems laser poses a high risk to civil flights operating at all altitudes and flight levels”, the report further says.
The agency said Russia's Defence Ministry has sent an urgent message to Ukraine to warn it of high risk to the safety of flights due to the use of weapons and military equipment by clock 5 and that it has asked Ukrainian authority for air traffic control to stop flights.
