Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has countered claims made by the Russian delegation that it is “ready for talks” with Ukraine. Zelenskiy said this morning he remains open for talks in other countries that are not showing aggression against Ukraine.
Ukrainian President added that the talks in Minsk in Belarus could have been possible if Russia hadn't attacked Ukraine from Belarus territory.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters earlier that the Russian delegation had arrived in Belarus for talks, and “are now waiting for Ukrainian”.
Belarus's Foreign Ministry announced it has prepared everything necessary for the meeting.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian Army confirmed that it knocked down a <x0-pounder with wings” fired in Kiev by a Tu-22 Belarus aircraft this morning.
