Regarding Albania's role in the Security Council, Rama said that “is a process known in the Security Council tradition where two countries team up to address one or two specific files and the US proposed to us this union, we accepted it with satisfaction and responsibility, and of course that gives us the opportunity to play a special” role in the Security Council.
Asked whether Albania is expected to submit a resolution to the Ukrainian issue, Rama said that “this is not a question of Albania, it is a question already of the entire world, of the UN Security Council, certainly in this process we will be side-by-side with the US. Of course, to be completely realistic, the decision-making belongs to the United States”.
The question of whether there are Albanian citizens in Ukraine and if they have left, Rama replied that the Albanian Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has taken all necessary measures as it has considered reasonable. We have several Albanian citizens who are part of O monitoring mission The SEU, who will continue to stay there”
