Minister of Management of Local Power Elbert Krasniqi said that through this completion, the best functioning of local self-government would become.

The law on local self-government is a law of vital interest. Taking into account its importance and the fact that 10 years of legislation on local self-government has been made, we have seen that some changes are necessary. They do not affect the system of local self-government and issues dealing with community rights, not majority, but only issues for the best functioning of this level of governance”, he said.

Supporting this bill also offered the Democratic League of Kosovo, through MP Agim Veliu.

On the other hand, PDK's chief parliamentary group, Ablerad Tahiri, expressed the reservations.

“Today this bill must be withdrawn and questioned with the community's association. So I can only figure out how we can vote today despite having a second reading when you have the mayors and the Association of Communities against”, he said.

After discussing this point, Kosovo Assembly deputies went on pause until 3:30.
