Commission Chairman for Economy from PDK ranks Ferat Shala is blaming the government led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti for failing to run the Competition Authority, now more than seven months.
MP Shala in an interview for Kosova Prees says the decision to expensive electricity from ZRE remains unacceptable, and as he emphasises will be co-ordinated together with opposition parties to appeal the decision to competent courts.
He even said that this decision, except at the expense of family economies, is discriminatory and does not include the entire territory of the country.
The decision for us has been and remains unacceptable, we in the coming days will do what is legally and democraticly possible to reject it, because the decision except that it is discriminated against does without equality among citizens. There are other violations, as it divides Kosovo out of what is its competence. Z THE THREE is leaving part of the territory without including, and in this relationship we are very opposed... In the coming days, you will see actions that will be co-ordinated with the opposition, but we expect institutional reactions in the coming days and not even legal actions, complaining of the ZRE's” decision, Shala said.
MP Shala away has said the government has not taken any steps to prevent expensive products.
According to him, the government, not appointing the new board of the Competition Authority, has also left open the possibility of violations and abuses in the general market.
“What is still more painful, the government has left open the possibility even of violations and abuses on the overall market. So today seven months the country does not have the board of the complete Competition Authority. So when he needs the country more in a pandemic situation, when the pharmaceutical market is out of control, because there's no authority to control it. On the other hand, we have extremely high-level inflation and we still don't have the competition Authority that will manage and control the market. We have inflation in all economic sectors, and today the government for seven consecutive months cannot decide and enable the Competition Authority to monitor, manage and control this unprecedented growth every last decade”, he claims.
MP Shala has also spoken of high oil prices, and of warnings that this growth trend will continue in the coming days.
For this, he said the state's hand is missing for oil market regulation and supervision.
“Despite attempts to hide behind major global crises, however, state institutions and mechanisms must function... How much are the state reserves? Where's the government's hand in this relationship? Do we really have oil reserves when they are needed, and how should they be used? Can we prevent inflation and the rising price of oil? So, the government is almost silent, intimate, even prior to the rising price of oil, even before the price of energy and prior to the pandemic situation”, he says.
Otherwise, the decision on raising electricity tariffs has entered into force on February 9th and is expected to be applied by 31st March 2023. / KP/
