Osmani has said that, like many democratic countries, Kosovo is concerned with events and a possible military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, while adding that Kosovo supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Of course just like the rest of the democratic world, we are deeply concerned about the events that are taking place in Ukraine. First I want to often support and solidarity with the people of Ukria, as well as full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this country”, Osmani has said.
The country's first has also voiced concerns about how a potential conflict there could affect Kosovo, as it has said, Serbia is in full co-ordination with Russia.
Serbia is fully supported and co-ordinated with its ally, Russia. We are concerned about their possible co-ordination as a result of events in Ukraine. Therefore, the way events will take place in Ukraine can indeed have a spreading effect in many other parts of the world”, Osmani told “Radio”
Furthermore, she added that Serbia is challenging the stability of Kosovo and several other states with Russia's help, while demanding that NATO have a more active role in responding to these challenges.
“It is no coincidence that we are seeing challenges for stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo from the aggressive approach and destabilizing efforts of Serbia assisted by Russia. I think that the answer should be unified, to NATO must have a very active role”, the country's president added
