In comments from this municipality to the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE), they demand that the Government and the Board of Z HREE to take necessary steps in implementing the Law on the Obilic Environmental Area.

“We seek from you both as the Government and the ZERE Board, along with your mechanisms to take the necessary steps on this issue, because it has been five years since the passing of the law in question in its entry into power, and this issue has not been resolved which is of great importance to the citizens of the municipality of Obilik”, says in comments from this municipality sent to ZRRE.

Criticism from this municipality has been linked to financial support for residents of the Obilic's endangered Environment Zone, while reportedly those with personal means have supported residents.

“Since the beginning of budget implementation, the municipality in 2019 has taken action to improve the lives of the residents of the Special Zone, respectively, where with budgetary division it has meant that on behalf of the subsidy of electricity to divide 300,000 euros for this municipal institution has created a working group that has made the identity of all active power distributors for family economies, but the same means have remained unremitted for the lack of illegal acts regulating the issue of the lowest residents under the law of the Government's jurisdictional laws, which is said to be equal to the state's currently.

So, they've asked the government, ZRE, KED/ KESCO to create a modulation as in the case of northern municipalities, and where for Obilqi, ZRE to provide a lower quota of electricity prices.

“Seek from Parliamentary Commission Government of the Republic of Kosovo, ZRE, KEDS/ KESCO seriously address this issue and create a modulation as in the case of the northern municipalities, where the Obilic municipality is determined by law No. 05L-044, Article 8, points 2: ) Government in co-operation with the Energy Regulatory Office provides: 2.1. a lower price price rate for electricity. The municipality of Obilic, the municipality on coal property, is ready for co-operation in finding a suitable solution for residents of Obilic, offering lower quotas of electricity prices and not raising tariffs, according to the Law on Obiliki and the impact of Obilic's citizen carrying from electricity production, from the activities of KOSOVA A and B thermal power plants, causing serious health damage”, the Obilic municipality reports.

On January 17th ZRE has published a consultative report under the extraordinary review that they have done for changing electricity tariffs.

Taking on a commitment from the Ministry of Economy that it will allocate 75m euros to ease the impact of the energy crisis on tariffs, Z. RRE says there is no need to increase the electricity price for consumers who don't spend more than 600 kWh per month. Therefore, the body that regulates activities in Kosovo's energy sector says the tools separated by the Government would avoid the need to increase the price of electricity for this category of consumers, reports Express.

“The government's subsidies effectively influence business consumers' tariffs not to suffer growth and household customers' bills not to increase for consumption that could be offered with the existing tariff from local capacities in Kosovo (up to 600kWh per month)”, the ZRR report said.

ZERE's proposal: Electricity tariffs based on the government's promised subvention. The electricity price increases for those who spend over 600 kWh per month.

According to the ZERE, consumers who spend up to 800 kWh per month and those who spend even more will not help the government's subsidy.

The ERC report proposes that the fee for consumers at 800kWh spent monthly will rise to 13.31 euros. While consumers who spend 1,000 kWh of electricity per month, according to the ZRE proposal face a 24.62-euro electricity price increase.
