Cybercriminals of North Korea stole several million dollars worth of cryptovalus to finance a missile weapons programme, a United Nations report said.
In the period between 2020 and 2021, more than 50 million digital money was stolen in cyberattacks, investigators found, reports the BBC.
Such attacks are a key “revenue source” for the genan nuclear and ballistic programme, the UN added.
The findings were handed over to the UN Sanction Committee on Friday for the first time.
Cyberattacks have targeted at least three cryptova peace exchanges in North America, Europe and Asia.
The report also cites a study released in January by the Cheynanalysis security company, which says cyberattacks from North Korea may have managed to steal up to $400m in cryptovaluta last year.
