The North-Atlantic Military Alliance has issued a statement condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine and Russian Army attacks. The statement says Russia will pay a high political and economic price.
“We condemn Russia's frightening attack on Ukraine, which is completely unjustified and untested. Our thoughts are with all those killed and wounded and with the people of Ukraine. We also condemn Belarus for enabling this attack. We call on Russia to the highest degree to turn back from the path of violence and aggression he has chosen. Russia's leaders must take full responsibility for the consequences of their actions. Russia will pay a very serious economic and political price. NATO will continue to co-ordinate closely with relevant interest parties and other international organisations, including the EU”, the statement said.
NATO says it will send additional forces to the eastern states of Allena following the Russian attack on Ukraine.
Russia's “Actions pose a serious threat to Euro-Atlantic security and they will have geostrategic consequences. NATO will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the security and protection of all allies. We are placing additional land and air defence forces in the eastern part of the Alliance, as well as additional maritime tools. We have increased our willingness to respond to all cases”, the statement said.
