At the Kosovo Independence Day marking ceremony, President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, during their addresses in the Assembly before MPs, have not told former Prime Minister Hashim Thaci or former President Fatmir Sejdiu anything.
In an interview for Kanal 10 has the former LDK chief, Isa Mustafa, who says that on such days the contribution should be recognised to all, including Thaci, who had read Kosovo's declaration of independence.
“I think that in such cases one should appreciate each, even the contribution of President Thaci, Thaci, respectively, as the country's prime minister because he has then read the declaration of independence. Even the contribution of President Fatmir Sejdiu, even the contributions of all those who have worked and helped for independence, because history cannot be rewritten on the basis of a mandate, or being united at a certain moment in government or presidency. No one can undo the fact that Mr. Thaci, there was Mr. Krasniqi, Mr. Fatmir Sejdiu as president, so I think their merits are there”, Isa Mustafa said.
Former Prime Minister Mustafa has declared that no one can make up for what happened in the past and that everyone should be recognised the contribution.
For such cases I appreciate there must be strict protocols. As to what should be said and presented on such a occasion as to how the ceremony should take place. And in this case I think even the protocol issues and maybe even the issues of people who are at the helm of institutions have not been on the level. But I think we should be careful on such occasions, we should appreciate everyone's work. Other issues are the situations the former president of the country is now facing, in fact, Mr. Chairmans. Krasniqi and Mr. Wessel. This is another situation. What is today cannot erase what was yesterday, nor their contribution to war. The court will do its job, but we must assess the deeds and contributions of each one”, Mustafa said further questioned whether President Osmani and Prime Minister Kurti deliberately did not mention Thaci in their speeches.
