Kosovo Prosecutor's Council Chairman-in-chief (KPK) Jeanish Maloku, along with the KPK Secretariat, based on Rule 06/2019 for the appointment of Chief State Prosecutor and Prosecutors Prosecutors of the Republic of Kosovo, has made application openings and has looked at materials accepted by six candidates, who have applied for the position of chief state prosecutor.
After looking at the materials handed down on the candidate's side, KPK leader Jetish Maloku, based on his mandate and the first criteria by regulations, has confirmed that all candidates who have applied have met the criteria and are formally considered candidates for the position of chief state prosecutor.
Candidates who have applied for the position of chief state prosecutor and who have met the criteria are:
- Arben Ishmael, the prosecutor of the Prosecutor of Appeals;
- Armend Hamiti, prosecutor at Pristina Foundation Prosecutor;
- Blerim Isufaj, chief prosecutor at the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo;
- Cameron Munishi, chief prosecutor at Pristina Foundation Prosecutor;
- Lulzim Sulejmani, prosecutor at Chief State Prosecutor's Office and
- Albanian Fazliu, prosecutor at the chief state prosecutor's office.
This list of candidate names will be sent to the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council for final confirmation.
Meanwhile, the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council will inform in time of the other procedures of the process of electing the chief state prosecutor.
The process of seeing the materials of these six candidates has been developed in physical presence and through the Zoom platform of representatives of the American Embassy, the EU Office, EULEX, the Group for Jury and Political Studies, which is a implementer of the “Monitorisation of the Judiciary and Prosecutorial System in Kosovo”, financed by the British Embassy in Kosovo, Kosovo Institute for Justice, Movement Foll, NGO Network “A VONET” and the Youth Initiative for Human Rights.
