Prime Minister Kurti thanked Emissar for the help and support of the United Kingdom before, during and after the war in Kosovo and for declaring independence.
The United Kingdom is the necessary partner of Kosovo for development and security, the prime minister said, welcoming the appointment of emissary Peach as the right move that would contribute to political processes in the Western Balkans.
He stressed the dedication to maintaining and developing relations with the United Kingdom by emphasising on diaspora, both the bridge to deepen co-operation in the field of investments and in cultural and human co-operation.
Kosovo's “future lies in NATO and the European Union, and the role of the United Kingdom in accelerating Kosovo's integration into NATO is central, and as the next and necessary step is Kosovo's membership in NATO's Partnership for Peace programme, which brings stability to the” region, the prime minister stressed.
Emisari Peach praised the relationship between Kosovo and the United Kingdom and expressed willingness and the will to deepen co-operation, especially in the area of rule of law and security.
Prime Minister Kurti briefed Emissar on the reforms initiated, stressing the Government of the Republic of Kosovo's commitment to economic development, reform in justice and good governance.
The government of the Republic of Kosovo is engaged in the dialogue process in Brussels. The dialogue should be principled and respect the equality of the parties and where the final beneficiaries are citizens, not politicians”, Prime Minister Kurti said. He reiterated that territorial integrity, sovereignty, state functioning, constitutionality and legitimacy -- all the time and everywhere -- remain unscheduled.
Taking on the long experience in the Western Balkan region, Emisari Peach expressed his willingness and will to help in the dialogue process.
