The UN Security Council has just voted to send Ukraine's case to the NATO General Assembly for an emergency session due to the blocking of permanent members in the council.
Russia vetoed a US resolution to condemn Moscow for the invasion of Ukraine.
“We urge Russia to ease its rhetoric”, said US Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield, in connection with a report on the deployment of forces on nuclear alert.
The vote was a procedure, not looking for another veto, broadcasts news.net.
The results were similar to last week's vote, which blocked the adoption of a resolution due to Russia's veto.
France has also submitted a resolution on humanitarian issues for review at the council.
This is the first special UN emergency session, the General Assembly since 1982, when a special UN emergency session to address the situation in the area of occupied Arab territories met.
