Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi has reacted sharply to the Energy Regulatory Office's decision to boost the energy price in Kosovo.

This decision to expensive energy prices, according to the opposition leader was taken in full co-ordination and with the blessing of Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Krasniqi has written on his Facebook page that this economic growth would seriously harm Kosovo families.

“In direct co-ordination and with full government blessing and Prime Minister Albin Kurti today Z The RRE formalised the decision warned of increasing the price of electricity, sealing the further burden of the life and welfare of Kosovo citizens. Since the beginning of its mandate, Kurti Government has failed to take any steps to develop the country's economy, heavily burdened during the pandemic, being unable to address the demands and needs of businesses, many of which brought about bankruptcy. Furthermore, the government has failed to take measures, prevent deterioration and ease the social burden on Kosovo families, in the face of continued price hikes at any essential” product, Krasniqi said.

Header The PDK said that from the lack of vision of this government to realise its electoral promises, in the past two months alone, over 100,000 young and young people have sought salvation away from their homeland, knocking on the doors of foreign embassies.

This is the true mirror of Kurti Government, which today added an unfair burden to all Kosovo citizens. We have long warned the energy crisis and invited the government to take appropriate measures, but the government had another agenda. We have called for debate in the Kosovo Assembly to clarify these suspicious positions of it, but it became clear that there was no doubt about it, since Vetevendosje deputies against the will of citizens were unanimously declared in favour of the expensive electricity. The government had taken the lead earlier this month, whose target we saw today with the scandalous ZERE decision, whose weight -- at the end of this month -- will pay Kosovo families with their salaries, which after the price surge in energy -- today will not suffice to cover even basic needs and services”, Krasniqi said.

He has warned that the Democratic Party of Kosovo, as he has rejected it over the past months, will challenge any legal means, in any judicial instance, just as in the Kosovo Assembly, and will not stop demanding the dismissal of members of the ERE Board who have sealed this sentence on Kosovo's citizens, as well as the annulment of the ZRR's scandalous decision, which as such, ends even the little security of prosperity that citizens have been able to secure in their perspire.

At the same time, The PDK is discussing the possibility of organizing a civic petition, so that we can tande Qeveri - Z RHRE realise that increasing energy prices is not an opposition political battle in the face of an incompetent and irresponsible government, but it is a threat to Kosovo citizens who are in the battle for survival, who cannot and cannot carry the cost of the government's inability, Kurti”, Krasniqi said.
