Of the countries in the region only Montenegro is worse than Kosovo, which is ranked 103rd until Albania stands best as 50th on the list. Serbia is 59th and Bosnia and Herzegovina 68th.
The Index of Economic Freedom is an annual index and ranking created in 1995 by the conservative Institute “The Heritage Foundation” and the “The Wall Street Journal” to measure the degree of economic freedom in countries of the world.
In 2021, Kosovo ranked 58th.
